It's extremely cheap because it's slightly out-dated hardware, but you can still achieve good results. It captures up to 640x480 resolution.

If you want to play your console on your TV at the same time as recording footage, you'll need to get some RCA splitters for your cables. Otherwise you can just watch your PC screen and play, although there might be some slight lag.

However, as the EasyCap takes an Analogue input, it records in interlaced mode. This isn't ideal, and requires de-interlacing after you've saved the file. Otherwise you might see small horizontal lines appear across your recording.

If you want to spend a bit more money, you should consider investing in a Roxio Game Capture card. This costs more but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. It is capable of capturing higher resolutions than the Easycap, and can also record in progressive scan mode rather than interlaced, which will result in a crisper, sharper picture.

It takes a digital input in the form of composite cables. You also get less lag if you want to play and record from the same display.

Finally, the best solution is to use a a DVR (or sometimes called a PVR) which stands for Digital Video Recorder. These are the most costly option, but also give best results. They can generally record up to 1080i resolutions, and can quickly record and burn DVDs.

So it all depends on what quality recording you need, together with the price you want to pay. EasyCap is recommended for beginners, but Roxio or a PVR should be used if you are more serious.

There are endless fun-filled opportunities to use these improvements when chasing the enemy with the remote controlled cars, blowing up buildings with the sensor grenades as well as marking targets and shooting them with the heavy, handheld weapons.

The future soldiers in the game have to work together to defeat the enemy, despite the heavy weaponry and the hi-tech gadgets they possess. This is to show that no battle is won by a single soldier, and the value of team work is immeasurable. The team of four can take out four targets at once using the contemplative weapons. The weapons have specific target marking propositions that add to the thrill of playing the game. When in hiding, these weapons can take out targets with utmost precision, although they prove to lose their accuracy in full combat.

The future soldiers' strength lies in their synchronized enemy- wiping shots. The game focuses on travelling to foreign destinations to fight and kill the enemy. The game is however, immensely entertaining for the players. During the game, there are some instances where group play is essential in defeating the enemy. The game has various challenge stages where the players are required to complete the stages in order for them to get new weapons. After successfully completing the stages, the players can obtain attachments from the gunsmith for their guns. There are some stages that a single player can complete, while others require a team effort. These challenges have twists, which leave the players yearning for more difficult challenges.

The game does not give the players all the necessary weapons at the beginning. Along the way they have to pick new weapons and learn new tricks up until the end of the game. After playing a few times, the player has a feeling of prowess, which he should use to tackle future challenges. The game offers the players some of the most hi-tech gadgets for the weapons. Tired of Sucking At Halo Reach Multiplayer? Me Too!

I like to win. I do not like to lose, and I certainly don't like to be the weakest player on my team (win or lose). I've been playing Halo forever. I got the first Halo along with the Xbox when it launched. It's really the only game series I've stayed devoted to. Yeah... Halo, Halo 2, Halo3, Halo Wars, ODST and Reach. I thought that because I have been playing Halo for so long, that I should be better. I wanted to be better. I got sick of being "pwned" at Reach Multiplayer.

I have finished the campaign on Legendary on most of these games, and one would think it would give me a good chance in the Multiplayer realm. Not true. Oh man, not true at all. The truth is that Multiplayer is a whole different ball game. Different moves, different skills, different tactics, totally different game. Anyway, I played Reach Multiplayer enough to get myself up to mediocre skill, but that's not enough when you go up against good players. You need to be patient. You need to be stealthy and sneaky. You literally need to put yourself in the game and think about how you would survive and thrive if you were there.

Stop dying! I am learning that sometimes the best offense is a good defense. It's important to know when you cannot win a battle and how to live to fight another day. This is where armor types come in to play. I usually use Sprint. If I am in a situation where I am dying a bit too fast to survive a battle, I run away. I run away like a little baby. I go hide in a corner and crouch and disappear and recharge the shields. Then I go hunting. I find another foe and engage them. It's all about knowing when you are beat and escaping to fight again. You are no good to your team if you are getting kills, but getting more deaths. It's super important to stay alive. The kills will come.

Start putting the other team to bed. My problem with Halo Reach Multiplayer was I would just go running into the action and start spraying bullets all over the place. It's important to move carefully. Take advantage of other battles that are taking place and of weakened opponents. Take advantage of cover. Never get yourself into a situation where you are a sitting duck. Try not to run into open areas where you can be seen from all over the place. Move in cover, and in crouch when you can. Also, shooting from crouch at long distances greatly increases accuracy. Plus when in crouch, the other team cannot see your dot on the radar. You can see them, but they cannot see you.

Try not to be a lone wolf. I have a really hard time with this one. I really like to go head to head with folks and it's entertaining to go running into battles, but when you fight alone, you die. Period. Stick with your teamates where possible. Watch where they are. If you are using a headset, communication is key. Shout out to your team when your outgunned and where you are. Anyway, don't just run around by yourself, you will die by yourself.

Stay relaxed. I have noticed that when I get tense or angry, my game suffers. My accuracy gets much worse when I am tense. Don't let the game (espescially the other team) get under your skin. There are still idiots out there who think 'teabagging' or taunting is funny. Yeah, it ticks me off as well. But if you let these things bother you, you are already losing. Let it slide, and when you get revenge, put an extra bullet in them for me.

The Top Most Difficult RPGs

RPGs are not the most common genre of video games, but to those die hard gamers it is the only thing they truly enjoy. RPGs can take hours of continuous play to beat, and even then it takes a huge amount of strategy to accomplish. Over the last decade many RPGs have been released that top the charts of video games, and here I will cover the top five most challenging ones.

To begin is Kingdom Hearts, released in 2002. This Disney based game is a very complex and difficult game. This game is very difficult because, like any RPG you must level up to gain strength, and sometimes the game will throw enemies at you that are a much higher level than you. I did finish this game and it made me a better game because I learned to rely more on the AI.

The second RPG is Final Fantasy XIII, released in 2010. This game, like all other Final Fantasy games, is a very long and complex game. You are introduced to progressively harder and harder enemies and bosses. I did finish this game and it made me a better gamer through the way it made me look at puzzles and how I assessed the battlefield.

The third RPG is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, released in 2003. This game is honestly one of my favorites but it is a very hard game in the constant puzzles and obstacles that are presented to you through the game. It took me a very long time to finish the game but I did it, and it made me a better gamer in the way that I outfit my characters. This game is very hard and what you fit to your character can make the difference between life and death.

The last and best RPG is Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, released in 2011. This is a very spectacular and glorious game. The aspect of this game that constantly keeps you on your toes and makes it all that more difficult is the constant changing of the game. You never know exactly what monster will jump out and attack you as you continue through the game, and every experience is different for every person. I did complete this game and it made me a better gamer by always keeping my guard up and constantly saving my game every few minutes.

Video Game Repair: How To Clean Your Game Cartridges

Those great classic NES, SNES and Atari games we all love so much are getting pretty old. Most are over twenty years old and many weren't too well taken care of by their original owners. Cartridge games work with metal connectors and over time those connectors oxidize and become unusable. The good news is most cartridge games will work with a few simple cleaning techniques.

Method #1 Q-Tips and Alcohol. For this technique you'll need q-tips and alcohol. Dilute the alcohol with water it use a half and half mix of water and alcohol. Some people say that you should use distilled or purified water I haven't found that this makes any real difference in cleaning the cartridge. Take the q-tip and dip it in the alcohol then move it up and down across the metal contacts inside the cartridge. Then take a dry q-tip and dry off the alcohol in the same pattern. If the q-tip looks dirty then repeat the process until the q-tip is relatively clean.

Method #2 WD-40 or Audio/Video Cleaner. Some cartridges have oxidized to the point where the above technique will not work. So then we have to try something a little more harsh. Instead of alcohol we are going to reach for a can of audio/video head cleaner or WD-40. Spray a small amount into the cartridge let it sit for a few minutes for the chemicals to take effect. Then take the q-tips and dry off the contacts again going up and down each metal contact.

Method #3 The Eraser. I haven't ever had to use this technique as most games will work using the above two techniques. However, some swear that this works and I don't see it doing any damage so I'll include it. For this technique you'll need a small Security Bit screw driver (you can find them on ebay) and a rubber eraser. First you'll have to open the cartridge using the screw driver and take out the circuit board from inside. Now move the eraser up and down over each metal contact. Clean away any left over eraser residue. The idea here is that the eraser will act as an abrasive agent and remove some oxidation from the contacts without damaging the actual metal.

If those don't work some people suggest using metal cleaners such as those used to clean old coins and the like. I don't suggest this because those are very harsh and could leave you with a game that will never be able to be played again.

Twisted Metal

The fans were disappointed when Twisted Metal's scheduled release for 2011 didn't push through, but we're done with the whining and we're just happy that it's going to be finally released (hopefully). With new characters, new weapons, and new vehicles, this game is expected to have an explosive comeback.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

This direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII looks to fix everything that was wrong with its predecessor, which should appease a lot of gamers who were downright displeased with the first title. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is set three years after the events in FF XIII, but this time, Square promises to deliver improved RPG and exploration elements for eager fans.

Hitman: Absolution

The first two "Hitman" titles could be considered as milestones in the development of stealth-action games. The sequel was notably a delight to play, but punished those who preferred to go in with guns blazing every time instead of carrying out a tactical approach to accomplish the mission. The next two titles, however, seemed more like spin-offs instead of sequels.

We believe that this title deserves a place in our list of the top PS3 games for 2012, primarily because Hitman: Absolution is expected to bring back the franchise to its former glory. Players can look forward to improved gameplay elements (such as being able to utilize more objects as improvised weapons), and better visuals (smoother action, kill animations, and a more realistic world).

Mass Effect 3

In the first two weeks after its release, Mass Effect 2 sold over two million copies and grabbed a bunch of awards in the process. Several gaming publications gave it perfect scores in their reviews, and was considered as (arguably) the best game for 2010. So is it any wonder that the upcoming release of its sequel has generated such excitement?

The third and final chapter (we assume) in this action-RPG trilogy sets us up for the completion of Commander Shepard's saga. Everything you loved about Mass Effect 2 is here, with a refined movement and cover system, as well as instant melee kills and a 4-player multiplayer mode. Its grand reputation coupled with finely-tuned gameplay makes it a no-brainer to include ME3 as one of the top PS3 games for 2012.

Video Game Review of Killzone 3 for PS3

This game is the sequel to Killzone 2. This game is about a war between two groups of humans. On one side, there is the ISA; these are the good guys with human faces. On the other side, there are their enemies; the Helghast. These are the humans that wear the red-goggled masks. The Helghast are a menacing group and they are determined to take control of the whole universe.

Killzone 3 picks up right where the last game left off. The game begins with a small group of ISA soldiers that are struggling to survive after being abandoned and left on enemy territory. Throughout the course of the game, you play as Sev. Sev is the same hero from Killzone 2. Sev's purpose is to do as much damage to the Helghast as possible before he is rescued, caught or killed.

Where the storyline falters, the action makes up for it. The action sequences throughout the game are visually impressive. This game offers smooth animations as well as transitions. This makes the game enjoyable when shifting from the standard shooting position, to looking through the sight on the assault rifle. The weapons sound powerful and the animations effectively convey bullets hitting armor. The blood that erupts from your enemies also appears to be extremely realistic.

This game offers a variety of weapons to kill the Helghast soldiers. The popular flamethrower returns as well as the boltgun. In addition to the M82, there are several new weapons that pack plenty of firepower. One of the new weapons allows the shooter to charge up a glowing green sphere of energy that blows through several enemies at once. Another powerful weapon allows the shooter to switch between two modes. One mode actually rains down artillery gunfire onto the Helghast soldiers and their vehicles.

Although this game alleges it uses all of the Playstation's robust processing power, there are moments in the game where the flow is staggered by minor glitches. It is important to note that there are no loading screens throughout the game. However, it's impossible to ignore the times when the game stops for a split-second to transition into another section of a level. There are also rare moments where the scripted sequences in the game will not start because a teammate is not in the right location. Furthermore, the sequence may pause if Sev isn't facing in the correct direction.

Killzone 3 does a great job of separating the levels. Between the levels on foot and the levels in the vehicles, this game transitions seamlessly. Although the entire campaign is linear, Killzone offers just enough time from moment to moment to keep you from accurately predicting the next objective. Every action sequence throughout the game is completely immersive. The combat sequences are more intense and more savage than many other first person shooter games. The design and visual complexity of Killzone 3 makes it interesting and entertaining despite the poorly developed storyline. The use of well-timed pacing and amazing action sequences throughout the campaign makes this game a must have for any PS3 shooting fan. In addition, the much improved and cool multiplayer mode is essential to the Killzone experience.

A downside to Killzone 3 is the one dimensional characters. From the hero, Sev, to the evil Helghast leaders; the traits of all the characters are consistent. The interplay as well as the dialogue between the characters is completely predictable. Consequently, the point of view of the soldiers is not nearly complex enough for a war game. The dynamics that allow the gamer to feel empathy or compassion for the characters is not present in this game. In the original Killzone, Captain Templar was a popular and well liked character. However, there are not many likeable characters in this game. The soldiers are indeed charming; in a savage brute kind of way, but Sev and the rest of the ISA appear to be more like thoughtless drones than soldiers facing a life or death situation. The soldiers do not appear to be fully affected by the feeling of abandonment. Honestly, these characters are not characters that the gamer can relate to or identify with.

Overall, Killzone 3 provides the gamer with a well-rounded experience. The game-play offers devastating melee attacks in addition to powerful gunfire. If close enough to a Helghast soldier, Sev can push his thumbs in the eyes of the soldiers. Sev can also execute a lethal tracheotomy using only his knife. Although the melee attacks may appear to be a minor addition, these attacks add a deeper strategy into the game-play. The only disadvantage of the melee attacks is that Sev is left open to get caught in passing gunfire. This game is visually amazing and utilizes great weapons. The weapons sound powerful and the blood looks realistic. Even though the storyline is a bit predictable and underdeveloped, Killzone 3 is a must have for any first person shooter enthusiast.
